Welcome to the Great Park Family! On 8th and 9th July, we successfully completed another fantastic year of transition at Great Park Academy! Pupils across Key Stage 2, both new and returning, took part in a range of exciting activities designed to build confidence, friendships and a sense of belonging. Throughout the two days, children enjoyed: Language activities Team-building challenges Music and singing Drama workshops Creative art sessions Meeting new members of our Great Park family It was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm, teamwork and positivity as pupils prepared for the next stage of their learning journey. A Day of Career Inspiration! Our pupils had a fantastic time taking part in a Mini Careers Fair, where they met a wide range of professionals and learned about the many exciting career opportunities available to them. A huge thank you to our visitors who generously shared their experiences and career journeys, including representatives from Tommee Tippee, the NHS (Urologist Surgeon and General Surgeon), an Engineer, Taylor Wimpey, Plaza Café, Gosforth Grand Hotel, Dave Vero (our Vice Chair of Governors), an ex-military professional, a charity worker, and a veterinary professional. Throughout the day, pupils also enjoyed: Finance workshops Uniform design activities Research projects Dressing up as their future career aspirations It was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm, curiosity and ambition as our children explored the world of work and began thinking about their future pathways. Breakfast & Football Morning at Great Park Academy! We're inviting students to join us in the auditorium from 7:00am on Monday 6th July for a special football breakfast viewing event. Bring along your favourite breakfast snacks, enjoy the match with friends, and start the school day in great company. Inspiring Young Authors with Katie Scorah! On Monday, our Key Stage 2 pupils were delighted to welcome author Katie Scorah. Katie spoke to the children about her journey to becoming a published author following the release of her recent children's book. Inspired by Katie's visit, the pupils took part in creative workshops where they planned and wrote their own rhyming short stories before sharing them with their peers. It was a fantastic opportunity to develop their creativity, confidence and love of storytelling. Creativity + Maths = Success! Our Year 6 pupils have been putting their mathematical skills to the test by designing and creating their very own maths games to challenge their classmates. From imaginative concepts to engaging gameplay, the creativity behind each game was truly impressive! We were amazed by the enthusiasm, teamwork and problem-solving skills on display, with every pupil showcasing their understanding of maths in a fun and innovative way.
