Great Park Academy Year 9 Oxford Oracy Trip – Day 2 Continues Further Building on an inspiring day of confident presentations, college tours, and sightseeing, our pupils then headed to the Oxford University Museum of Natural History for an unforgettable learning experience. They enjoyed a fascinating lecture on evolution, followed by a handson session where they were able to explore real museum samples, both dead and alive! Pupils also had time to wander through the stunning Natural History Museum building and explore the remarkable collections of the Pitt Rivers Museum, discovering everything from ancient artefacts to extraordinary specimens from around the world. Year 9 Oxford Oracy Trip – Day 2 Continued In addition to showcasing their amazing resilience and presentation skills, our pupils have also enjoyed an inspiring tour of Jesus College. Walking through its historic quads and beautiful grounds gave everyone a real sense of what university life could look like. We then explored the city's iconic landmarks, the city of dreaming spires, taking in the architecture, atmosphere, and history that make Oxford such a special place to learn and discover. Each pupil chose their own topic, which led to a fantastic variety of ideas, creative insights, and some truly charismatic presentations. Day One in Oxford After a long coach journey, including a much-needed stop at the services, our Year 9 group arrived at St Anne's College, Oxford. We settled into our rooms before heading out on a lovely tour of the college, with information about the University and studying at Oxford. Dinner in the beautiful college hall was stunning - great food and great atmosphere. The evening concluded with relaxed activities in the JCR, including a pool, table tennis, table football, and a movie to unwind.
