YEAR 10 ART UPDATE Our Year 10 students have been working incredibly hard on their artist research, laying the foundations before they begin developing ideas for their final outcomes. They've shown a strong understanding of their chosen artists, thoughtfully exploring techniques, themes and visual styles, and many have done an amazing job capturing the essence of their artists' work within their studies. We're excited to see how this research inspires their next steps as they move into the creative development stage. They've produced some fantastic experimental pieces, and these early studies will soon be developed into abstract artworks that represent their own unique identities. We're so impressed with the incredible work from Helen T in Year 10 this week! She's created this fantastic frog inspired by the style of artist Allison Kunath, and it looks amazing. Helen has beautifully captured Kunath's signature use of layered colour and geometric line detailing, bringing real vibrancy and character to her piece. Football Achievements! Last Thursday, our KS2 football team faced Gosforth Central Middle School, St. Charles, and St. Oswald's, coming away with three impressive wins and one strong draw! Maths Super Learning Day! The whole of KS2 took part in an exciting Maths Super Learning Day, diving into the four operations through a range of fun and challenging activities. Pupils enjoyed maths bingo, cracked codes to escape the room, created their own board games, and even challenged their friends! KS4 Art Learning Spotlight Our KS4 students have been producing some incredible work inspired by contemporary artists! Georgina has recreated the style of Abby Diamond, capturing her expressive use of line, colour, and energetic markmaking to create her stunning bird. Her piece shows real confidence and a developing personal style. Reyyan has taken inspiration from Tamara Phillips, using delicate patterns and flowing watercolour effects to create this fantastic rabbit artwork. A beautiful blend of technique and imagination!
