German Enrichment Day with the Munich Supercrew! We were thrilled to host the amazing Munich Supercrew last week for a special German enrichment event, and it was electric from start to finish. Students kicked off the day learning German in fun, interactive sessions, then wrapped it up by joining a full-on German rock concert right here in school! We were proud to welcome four other schools to share in the experience, making it a brilliant celebration of language, music, and culture. GPA KS3 Art Update – Year 7 & Year 9! Our KS3 artists have been busy creating stunning and imaginative work across their current projects! Year 7 – Abstract Art Exploration Year 7 students have been developing their painting skills by exploring abstract artwork. They've experimented with different types of paint, enhancing their control, colour mixing, and creative expression. Their bold and vibrant outcomes show fantastic progress and confidence! Year 9 – Neurograph Artwork Year 9 have now completed their striking Neurograph art pieces, inspired by their Micro World theme. They have shown impressive skill in creating smooth ink gradients, as well as exploring intricate line detail to bring their ideas to life. The results are both detailed and visually powerful. GPA Artists of the Week! This week, we're celebrating two outstanding young artists whose creativity and skill have truly shone! Christopher – Year 10 Christopher has recreated the vibrant style of Dean Russo with fantastic success! His colourful frog painting brilliantly captures Russo's signature use of vivid colour and layered detail. A stunning piece full of energy and personality – well done, Christopher! Olivia – Year 7 Our second Artist of the Week is Olivia, who has produced a fantastic abstract artwork inspired by Wassily Kandinsky. Her excellent control, thoughtful colour mixing, and expressive use of line show real artistic growth and confidence. Year 10 Artist Spotlight – Alice! Year 10 have been exploring a range of artists, replicating their work and experimenting with different media, and Alice has been leading the way with some outstanding progress. She has been working incredibly hard on her Animals theme, researching artists to inspire and strengthen her ideas. Alice has produced a fantastic copy of the artist's Kingfisher, showing real attention to detail and technique. Building on this, she has created a beautiful Fawn in the style of the same artist, demonstrating creativity, skill, and a strong understanding of artistic influence. To complete the project, Alice has presented her work beautifully in her portfolio, showcasing professionalism and real pride in her achievements.
