You will be employed by the Gosforth Group and may need to work across all locations within the Multi Academy Trust as required.

About the Trust

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Great Park Academy and support the wider development of the languages offer in the school and across the Trust. Alongside traditional classroom teaching, we are seeking to appoint a teacher who will lead and contribute to the enrichment offer of languages across the Trust. Great Park Academy welcomes the first cohort of Year 9 students on to our temporary home in September 2024. They will receive lessons through a planned curriculum of German and Mandarin. We would like to offer French as an enrichment opportunity for this Year group as they enter Year 9. This role will plan and deliver this offer primarily for Great Park Academy. They will also support the enrichment offer across other Gosforth Group schools.

This is a pivotal moment as Great Park Academy will move into their permanent site for September 2025 and students will access their Key Stage 4 options at this point. It could prove an ideal opportunity for someone thinking of soon becoming a department head to demonstrate their potential leadership skills as well as being a brilliant practitioner and advocate for language teaching

What we are looking for

  • A passion for languages
  • The ability to teach French across key stages 2, 3, 4 and 5
  • The ability to teach Spanish, Mandarin, or German in addition to French
  • Ideally someone flexible and keen to teach a variety of subjects and contribute to all aspects of school life as our new schools grow.
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Consistently high expectations of students and yourself
  • Excellent communication and ICT skills
  • An ability to work effectively within a supportive team environment
  • A keen interest in development and sharing of effective teaching and learning strategies in MFL
  • A commitment to fresh and exciting methods of delivering the curriculum
