About the Trust

Gosforth Group are a dynamic and diverse Multi Academy Trust – this means we have a clear energy and purpose, and all students are valued equally, regardless of their background or ability. We are a growing multi-academy trust comprising 6 academies, two of which opened in September 2021. The Trust currently has approx. 6000 students and 650 staff. ‘Create your future’ encapsulates our purpose as a Multi Academy Trust: to educate, support and nurture all of our students so they can achieve their potential and fulfil their ambitious aspirations.

About the Academy

Come to work in a thriving community. Great Park Academy is a growing school committed to providing the best education for pupils from Year 5 to Year 11. The school opened in September 2021 on a temporary site at Gosforth Academy. In 2025, we will move to a new 1200-capacity school building in the Great Park area of Newcastle.

About the role

We are one of two new schools within the Gosforth Group Multi Academy Trust and will welcome our new cohorts of students when the position starts, meaning that we will have Years 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. This is a wonderful opportunity for a dynamic, creative leader to help shape the future of our school, including developing an ambitious Performing Arts curriculum that will prepare students to be confident in studying the subject at GCSE and beyond.

First and foremost, we are looking for someone who loves their subject and is passionate, proactive, and innovative. You will be an excellent teacher with strong subject knowledge and a detailed understanding of delivering the subject to a high standard at KS3 and KS4. You may already be a subject leader or a second in the subject or be ready to take your first step into subject leadership. You will have a proven record of raising attainment and accelerating progress while demonstrating effective and exciting teaching and learning.

We are developing a strong team of practitioners at Great Park Academy who can be versatile and keen to be involved in many varied aspects of school life, particularly during the coming years while the school grows. You will be an important part of our growing school and a consummate professional, practical and ‘hands-on’, able to enthuse and motivate colleagues and students.

This is a unique chance for someone looking to develop as a leader within a highly successful and supportive school and multi academy trust, backed up by excellent resources and facilities.

What we need:

  • An outstanding practitioner
  • A passion for Performing Arts and for teaching and leading all facets of the Performing Arts curriculum
  • A proven track record of excellent progress and achievement across key stages 3 and 4
  • A commitment to fresh and exciting methods of delivering the curriculum
  • The ability to develop, lead and inspire a team of staff
  • A relentless drive to secure the best possible outcomes for students of all abilities and from all backgrounds
  • Excellent communication and ICT skills

We can offer you the following:

  • An opportunity to work with highly skilled professionals in school and across the MAT
  • Enthusiastic and motivated students
  • An exciting and extensive commitment to professional development
  • A school with its community at heart
  • A programme of staff well-being activities

This is an exceptional opportunity to make a difference in a positive and exciting environment. If you share our community’s ethos of progression, diversity, and dynamism, we would be delighted to hear from you.
