You will be employed by the Gosforth Group and may need to work across all locations within the Multi Academy Trust as required.

About the Academy

Come to work in a thriving community. Great Park Academy is a growing school committed to providing the very best education for pupils from Year 5 to Year 11. The school opened in September 2021 on a temporary site at Gosforth Academy. We will move to a brand new 1200 capacity school building in 2025 which will be situated in the Great Park area of Newcastle.

We are one of two new schools within the Gosforth Group Multi Academy Trust and will be welcoming our new cohorts of students when the position starts meaning that we will have Years 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. This is a wonderful opportunity for a dynamic, creative teacher to help shape the future of our school.

The role of Assistant Principal

Required from September 2024, Great Park Academy Academy are seeking a highly motivated and inspirational Assistant Principal. The successful candidate will provide proactive support to the Principal and ensure that the leadership and management of the Academy operate at the most effective level possible. We are looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious and driven leader with experience in developing and implementing new initiatives either within a department or whole school. As a Senior Leader you will be a highly visible part of our school community and must therefore model the highest levels of professionalism, whilst being able to develop strong working relationships with staff and students.

What we are looking for

The successful candidate will have experience of working with young people at various age key stages and will be expected to create a culture that enables all learners and staff to excel.

The appointed candidate could be offered a role based on their strengths, abilities, and passions. The role will be shaped around the skills and desires of the successful candidate, but overwhelmingly you must be able to align with our values and vision. You need to be a leader that others will follow and have a passion for wanting the best from those around you.

As Assistant Principal, you will have an excellent understanding of the National Curriculum for Key Stages 2, 3 and 4 alongside the education inspection framework. You will promote a relentless focus on personal development and delivery of a broad and relevant curriculum that meets the needs of learners and produces positive outcomes.

Specific areas of responsibility will be decided upon appointment depending on the needs of the school, and the experience of the successful candidate.
